  8. good independent MINI mechanic?

    Can anyone recommend a good independent mechanic.

     

    I used to get the car serviced at Laakkonen, when it was in warranty, then then I switched to Autokeskus in Konala, who have been able to fit (ie) new brakes, suspension, engine modifications, etc. but now they say they "only do Original Equipment" (which is bullshit).

     

    So now I need a decent mechanic who knows MINI's and can do the work in the Helsinki region. Any ideas?

    It's enough power to trip the DSC and create emissions-fault codes in your ECU (if you go full throttle on a cold day), but at least the MINI guys in England will tell you that you need to run a bigger intercooler. Your charger will be spinning harder, compressing more air, and creating a lot more heat. I've got a GRS-M fitted if you want to come and have a look at it - if you're in Helsinki one day. But that's all I've done. Manifold next.

     

    The other thing to do is get hold of a Scanguage or other OBD2 reader and use it to watch intake air temperatures, so you know when you really have to slow down.

    This is a great deal! I cannot beleive that no one has bought these!

     

    Nice light wheels (6.46kg) and tyres that are getting a lot harder to find and when you find them, a lot more expensive (£150+). I would have bought them, if I hadn't been impatient and bought some other OZ's and Yokohama AD08s from Camskill, which cost me a lot more than €800.
